The Book is about a group of friends that go out camping for a few days, and while camping they find that there has been an invasion from an unknown country that seems to look like an asian country. The Author wrote the book in a different way. The book could have been really fast paced and heart pumping but the book was not intended in that direction; rather the book was intended to be the more realistic way about how eight friends in reality would react to war. By saying that there still is alot of action and becomes very suspenseful. The book fundementally is a character analyses, examining the shock, stress and the way war messes with peoples minds.
Positives of the Book:
The book has a real sense of reality
The book has your average group of teenagers rather than a group of trained professionals that all know what they are doing
Author makes you think they are real people
The characters have realistic personalities.
The Vine's Tomorrow when the war began movie review was very positive.
Here are some quotes:
"Without putting too fine a point on it, John Marsden’s Tomorrow series of books is hot shit."
"Just a ripper of a story and well-drawn, ordinary young people with everything at stake. It has every chance of being a smash hit, here and elsewhere, and deserves the chance to grow. Let’s hope Beattie and his hot young cast get that opportunity, because they’re definitely up to the challenge."
